Chapter 15 | The Wine Drinker

5. Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan from al-‘Ala’ from certain persons of our people who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has stated this Hadith. “The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘If a wine drinker becomes ill do not visit him. If he dies do not attend his funeral, if he testifies do not rely his testimony, if he proposes marriage do not marry him and if he asks to trust him about a trust do not trust him.’”
