Chapter 21 | The Messenger of Allah, O Allah , grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause , has Prohibited all Intoxicating Liquor of a Small or Large Quantity

12. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hanan who has said the following: “I once heard a man asking abu ‘Abd Allah , about al-Nabidh and that abu Maryam drinks it and that he thinks he (the Imam) has commanded him to drink it. He (the Imam) said, ‘I seek protection with Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, against commanding to drink intoxicating liquor. This by Allah is something about which I do not fear (Taqiyah, use caution before) the Sultan or people other than the Sultan. The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘All intoxicating liquor is unlawful. What is intoxicating in large quantity, it is unlawful in small quantity also.’”
