The Sufficient (Vol 6) · Hadith 1750 (#Ḥadīth #6)

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ قَالَ اسْتَأْذَنْتُ عَلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) لِبَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا فَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ النَّبِيذِ فَقَالَ حَلَالٌ فَقَالَ أَصْلَحَكَ اللَّهُ إِنَّمَا سَأَلْتُ عَنِ النَّبِيذِ الَّذِي يُجْعَلُ فِيهِ الْعَكَرُ فَيَغْلِي حَتَّى يُسْكِرَ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ .

6. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘ Umayr from ‘ Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Hajj aj who has said the following: “I once asked for permission to visit abu ‘Abd Allah , for a certain person of our people and he asked him (the Imam) about al-Nabidh. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is lawful.’ He then said, ‘I pray to Allah to keep you well, I ask about al-Nabidh in which residue is placed, then is boiled until it becomes intoxicating liquor.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah , said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘All intoxicating liquor is unlawful.’”
