The Sufficient (Vol 6) · Hadith 1777 (#Ḥadīth #5)

أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ قَالَ كَتَبْتُ إِلَى أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) أَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الْفُقَّاعِ فَكَتَبَ يَنْهَانِي عَنْهُ .

5. Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from ibn Faddal who has said the following: “I once wrote to abu al-Hassan , asking about al-Fuqa ’ and he (the Imam) prohibited me to use it.”
