The Sufficient (Vol 6) · Hadith 1787 (#Ḥadīth #15)

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ قَالَ كَتَبْتُ إِلَى أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) أَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الْفُقَّاعِ قَالَ فَكَتَبَ يَقُولُ هُوَ الْخَمْرُ وَ فِيهِ حَدُّ شَارِبِ الْخَمْرِ .

15. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal who has said the following: “I once wrote to abu al-Hassan and asked about al-Fuqa’. He (the Imam) said in writing, ‘It is wine and the penalty for drinking it is like that for drinking wine.’”
