The Sufficient (Vol 6) · Hadith 1978 (#Ḥadīth #6)

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ مِنْهَالٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) وَ عَلَيَّ نَعْلٌ مَمْسُوحَةٌ فَقَالَ هَذَا حِذَاءُ الْيَهُودِ فَانْصَرَفَ مِنْهَالٌ فَأَخَذَ سِكِّيناً فَخَصَّرَهَا بِهَا .

6. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Tsma‘il from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Uthman from a man from Minhal who has said the following: “Once I was with abu ‘Abd Allah , and I was wearing a sandal which was smooth. He (the Imam) said, ‘This is of the kind of sandals that Jews wear.’ Minhal then returned, took a knife and carved to narrow down its middle.’”
