7. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from ’Isma‘il ibn Mehran from ‘Abd Allah ibn al- Mughirah who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah , saying, ‘Once a man asked abu Ja‘far , if a man can sit on a furnishing which has pictures of things on it. He (the Imam) said, ‘Al-’A‘ajim (non- Arab) respect it, but we do not consider it important.’”
