Chapter 33 | Clipping and Shaving Hairs

أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنِ ابْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) مَا تَقُولُ فِي إِطَالَةِ الشَّعْرِ فَقَالَ كَانَ أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٍ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) مُشْعِرِينَ يَعْنِي الطَّمَّ .

6. Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan from ibn Sinan who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah , about growing long hairs. He (the Imam) said that companions of the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, clipped their hairs.’”
