The Sufficient (Vol 6) · Hadith 2324 (#Ḥadīth #5)

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ فَضْلُ الْبَنَفْسَجِ عَلَى الْأَدْهَانِ كَفَضْلِ الْإِسْلَامِ عَلَى الْأَدْيَانِ نِعْمَ الدُّهْنُ الْبَنَفْسَجُ لَيَذْهَبُ بِالدَّاءِ مِنَ الرَّأْسِ وَ الْعَيْنَيْنِ فَادَّهِنُوا بِهِ .

5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu from Ali ibn Hassan from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Kathir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘The excellence of viola oil over other oils is like the excellence of Islam over other religions. Viola is very good; it banishes the pain from the head and eyes, so you must apply it.’”
