Chapter 3 | People Do not Remain Straight in Matters of Divorce without the Sword

5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from certain persons of our people from Aban from abu Basir who has said the following: “I once heard abu Ja‘far , saying, ‘Had the affairs of people been in my hands I would straighten them with the sword and whip until they divorced with waiting period as Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has commanded.’”
