The Sufficient (Vol 6) · Hadith 2436 (#Ḥadīth #3)

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنِ الْعَمْرَكِيِّ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ السَّرْجِ وَ اللِّجَامِ فِيهِ الْفِضَّةُ أَ يُرْكَبُ بِهِ فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَ مُمَوَّهاً لَا يُقْدَرُ عَلَى نَزْعِهِ فَلَا بَأْسَ وَ إِلَّا فَلَا تَرْكَبْ بِهِ .

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from al-‘Amrakiy ibn Ali from Ali ibn Ja‘far from his brother abu al-Hassan , who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan , about the saddle and the rein in which silver is used; if it can be used. He (the Imam) said, ‘If it is in a whitewashing (painted) form which cannot be removed, then it is not harmful, otherwise, you must not ride with it.’”
