The Sufficient (Vol 6) · Hadith 2460 (#Ḥadīth #1)

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَسِمُ الْغَنَمَ فِي وُجُوهِهَا قَالَ سِمْهَا فِي آذَانِهَا .

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from Yunus ibn Ya’qub who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah , about if I can mark sheep on their faces. He (the Imam) said, ‘Mark them on their ears.’”
