Chapter 39 | Benefits for a Divorced Woman

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ الْبَخْتَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) فِي الرَّجُلِ يُطَلِّقُ امْرَأَتَهُ أَ يُمَتِّعُهَا قَالَ نَعَمْ أَ مَا يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ أَ مَا يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُتَّقِينَ .

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hafs ibn af-Bakhtariy who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah , about the case of a man who divorces his wife; if he can benefit her. He (the Imam) said, ’Yes, does he not want to be of the people of good deeds, does he not want to be of the pious people?”’
