Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Jamil ibn Darraj from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ja‘far , about the case of a man who says to his wife, ’You from my side are free, cleared and severed’ or ‘you are unlawful.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It does not have any valid effect.’”
