Chapter 10 | Names and Titles

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَدْ سَمَّاهُ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ أَصْدَقُ الْأَسْمَاءِ مَا سُمِّيَ بِالْعُبُودِيَّةِ وَ أَفْضَلُهَا أَسْمَاءُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ .

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Faddal from abu Ishaq, Tha’labah ibn Maymun from a man whom he has mentioned who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far , has said, The truest name is that which expresses one’s slavery to (Allah) and the best of them are names of the Prophets.’”
