The Sufficient (Vol 6) · Hadith 761 (#Ḥadīth #8)

أَبَانٌ عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ صَيْدِ الْمَجُوسِيِّ قَالَ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ إِذَا أَعْطَوْكَهَا حَيّاً وَ السَّمَكَ أَيْضاً وَ إِلَّا فَلَا تُجِزْ شَهَادَتَهُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ تَشْهَدَهُ أَنْتَ .

8. Aban has narrated from ‘Isa ibn ‘Abd Allah who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah , about the hunting by Zoroastrians. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful, if he gives it to you alive as well as the fish also, otherwise, their testimony is not acceptable unless you witness its being fished alive.’”
