Chapter 13 | Locusts

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ هَارُونَ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) الْجَرَادُ ذَكِيٌّ فَكُلْهُ فَأَمَّا مَا هَلَكَ فِي الْبَحْرِ فَلَا تَأْكُلْهُ .

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah, from his father from ‘Awn ibn Jarir, from ‘Amr ibn Harun al-Thaqafiy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has stated this Hadith. ’Amir al-Mu 5 minin has said, ‘Al-Jarad (locust) is clean and slaughtered, you can use it for food, however, do not use for food whatever dies in water ."
