Chapter 14 | Hunting Domestic Birds

عَنْهُ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفُضَيْلِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ صَيْدِ الْحَمَامَةِ تُسَاوِي نِصْفَ دِرْهَمٍ أَوْ دِرْهَماً فَقَالَ إِذَا عَرَفْتَ صَاحِبَهُ فَرُدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ إِنْ لَمْ تَعْرِفْ صَاحِبَهُ وَ كَانَ مُسْتَوِيَ الْجَنَاحَيْنِ يَطِيرُ بِهِمَا فَهُوَ لَكَ .

3. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from ibn Faddal from Muhammad ibn al-Fudayl who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan , about hunting pigeons worth one-half of a dirham or one dirham. He (the Imam) said, ‘If you know its owner return it to him; but if you do not know its owner and its wings are complete with both of which it can fly then it is yours . 555
