Chapter 4 | The Case of a Man who Wants to Slaughter an Animal and the Knife by Mistake Cuts off the Head
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أُذَيْنَةَ عَنِ الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ رَجُلٍ ذَبَحَ فَسَبَقَهُ السِّكِّينُ فَقَطَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ هُوَ ذَكَاةٌ وَحِيَّةٌ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ وَ بِأَكْلِهِ .
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from ‘Umar ibn ‘Udhaynah from al-Fudayl ibn Yasar who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ja‘far , about the case of a man who slaughters an animal but by mistake the knife cuts off its head before it dies. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is a fast slaughtering and it is not unlawful to use it for food.’”
