The Sufficient (Vol 6) · Hadith 84 (#Ḥadīth #3)

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مَرَّارٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ يُحَنَّكُ الْمَوْلُودُ بِمَاءِ الْفُرَاتِ وَ يُقَامُ فِي أُذُنِهِ .

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ’Isma‘il ibn Marrar from Yunus from some of his companions, from Abu Ja‘far , he said, ‘Drops of water from the Euphrates should be dropped in the newborn’s mouth, and Iqamah should be recited in his ear.’”
