The Sufficient (Vol 7) · Hadith 563 (#Ḥadīth #1)

1- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ الرَّجُلُ يُشْهِدُنِي عَلَى الشَّهَادَةِ فَأَعْرِفُ خَطِّي وَخَاتَمِي وَلا أَذْكُرُ شَيْئاً مِنَ الْبَاقِي قَلِيلا وَلا كَثِيراً قَالَ فَقَالَ لِي إِذَا كَانَ صَاحِبُكَ ثِقَةً وَمَعَكَ رَجُلٌ ثِقَةٌ فَاشْهَدْ لَهُ.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn al-Nu’man from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman from ‘Umar ibn Yazid who has narrated the following: “I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah , about the case of a man who asks me to testify for a case and I recognize my handwriting and seal but do not remember anything of the rest, little or more. He (the Imam) said, ‘If the party is trustworthy and there is another trustworthy man, you can testify.’”
