The Sufficient (Vol 8) · Hadith 512 (#Ḥadīth #1)

أَبَانٌ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) قَالَ شَدَّ عَلِيٌّ (عليه السلام) عَلَى بَطْنِهِ يَوْمَ الْجَمَلِ بِعِقَالٍ أَبْرَقَ نَزَلَ بِهِ جَبْرَئِيلُ (عليه السلام) مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (صلى الله عليه وآله) يَشُدُّ بِهِ عَلَى بَطْنِهِ إِذَا لَبِسَ الدِّرْعَ.

512. Aban, from Yaqoub Bin Shuayb, who has said: Abu Abdullah has said: ‘Ali tightened a glimmering belt around his abdomen on the Day of Al-Jamal which Jibraeel had descended with from the sky, and the Rasool Allah ﷺ used to wear it around his ﷺ abdomen whenever he ﷺ wore the armour’.
