Chapter 86 | There is no escape from three things

عَلِيٌّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ حُمْرَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) قَالَ ثَلَاثَةٌ لَمْ يَنْجُ مِنْهَا نَبِيٌّ فَمَنْ دُونَهُ التَّفَكُّرُ فِي الْوَسْوَسَةِ فِي الْخَلْقِ وَ الطِّيَرَةُ وَ الْحَسَدُ إِلَّا أَنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ لَا يَسْتَعْمِلُ حَسَدَهُ.

86. Ali, from his father, from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr, from Abu Maalik Al-Hazramy, from Hamza Bin Humran, who has said: Abu Abdullah having said: ‘There are three things from which except for a Nabi no one else is safe from – The ‘الْوَسْوَسَةِ’ untrue perception about the creation, and the ‘الطِّيَرَةُ’ pessimism/depression and the ‘الْحَسَدُ’ jealousy , except that believer does not make use of his jealousy’.
