Al Jazeera Centre for Studies

The Al Jazeera Centre for Studies is a Doha-based think tank, affiliated with the Al Jazeera Media Network, that publishes analysis of the Arab and Islamic world.

Established in 2006, the centre produces policy briefs, reports and studies on the politics, security and international relations of the Middle East and the broader Muslim world, drawing on the reach of the Qatar-based Al Jazeera network. It convenes conferences and hosts researchers, and has become one of the more visible sources of analysis on regional affairs published in both Arabic and English.

As with the network to which it is linked, its work is influential and widely read, and — like much politically engaged analysis in the region — has drawn both praise and criticism, with some governments viewing Al Jazeera's output favourably and others critically.
