The terms under which Quran Living is offered.

An agreement, and we are bound by it too.

One side of this agreement wrote it, and that side is us. So the terms below are meant to be read as a covenant rather than as a shield: plain about what you get, plain about what we may do, and free of the clause that is technically disclosed and practically hidden. If you find something here that reads one way and works another, tell us and we will fix the wording, not the excuse.

Concretely, three promises follow from that and are repeated below where they apply: your own work is never deleted because a payment stopped, nothing you have already paid for is withdrawn mid-term, and if you were charged for something you did not get, you get it back.

By using Quran Living you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Reading the corpus is free and stays free. A free account also carries a personal layer — highlights, notes, bookmarks and reading position — within the allowances shown on the membership page. Optional paid tiers lift those allowances and add tools: Basic (unlimited annotation, tags, comparison and export) and Premium (the qirāʾāt, the classical lexicons, quizzes, flashcards, spaced-repetition review and mastery tracking). Features may evolve over time; nothing already paid for is withdrawn during a term you have paid.

If the price is beyond you and you want to study here, ask us on the membership page and we will give you a plan at no cost. That is a term of this agreement, not a favour.

Subscriptions & billing

  • Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record, which collects and remits any applicable taxes/VAT. Prices are shown before purchase.
  • You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; access continues until the end of the paid period. Renewals are automatic until cancelled.
  • Downgrading never deletes your data — your annotations and study progress become read-only and are fully restored if you resubscribe.
  • Refunds are handled per Lemon Squeezy's policy; contact us and we will help.

Your account

  • You must be at least 16 to create an account, or the lower age your own country sets for consenting to an online service (13 in the United Kingdom). Reading the site needs no account and has no age limit — see Children in the privacy policy.
  • Keep your password secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Use the service lawfully and do not attempt to disrupt, scrape at scale, or abuse it.

Nature of the content

Quran Living is a study and reference tool. It is not a substitute for qualified scholarly guidance and must not be treated as a source of religious rulings (fatāwā). See Content & corrections for how we handle accuracy.

No warranty & liability

The service and its content are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the service or reliance on its content. Verify important matters with knowledgeable, trustworthy scholars.

Changes

Measurement

We measure aggregate use of the site to improve it — which pages are read, roughly where readers come from, and what is typed into our search box. This is done on our own servers without cookies and without storing IP addresses, and it is described in full in the Privacy policy. We honour the Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control browser signals. Do not use search terms to transmit personal or confidential information; the search box is a research tool, not a private channel, and entries that look like contact details are discarded rather than stored.

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected here. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
